Strongland in a Strong Land T-shirt (hand painted). The night Strongland was born, our resident owls welcomed him to the world. This boy loves owls!

Columbus Railyard
During the COVID19 Pandemic, Strongland and I, sometimes with his Mama, would pass the time at the railyards in Columbus, watching trains and eating our packed lunch out of the bed of my pick-up. I have no doubt these were Strongland’s favorite lunches. I painted this for his Mama, knowing that one day, Strongland will inherit it, and he will know, that those were my favorite lunches too.

"Only David Remembers"
Oil of board. 24x36.
Painted on location by the railyard in Columbus, GA. As I was working, an elderly man sauntered over and talked for a bit. I’d guess he was in his 80’s; still working the job. He commented about things he remembered in Columbus that are no longer here or have changed over time. I asked him if he painted. “Always wanted to,” David said. If this painting sells, I’m going to buy him a set of paints, brushes, and a board or two. One Sunday afternoon I’ll surprise him, take him the supplies and offer to clean up around the place while he paints. Boy, won’t that puzzle the man? I’m gonna do it anyways, even if it doesn’t sell.
